Gwyn Roberts is the New Homes and Communities lead at BRE. BRE is the UK leading building science centre with a 90 year history.
Gwyn has years of experience within the sustainable housing sector from a number of different angles, while at BRE he has led the work on the development of the Home Quality Mark and also the response to Government's Housing Standards Review. Previous to this, Gwyn worked as a sustainability consultant in the North West of England working on a range of housing projects from self-build dwellings in national parks, to large housing schemes in Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham for some of the UK's largest house builders.
Gwyn started his career in central Government, notably within the Building Regulations team at the Department for Communities and Local Government, where he worked as a policy advisor on the Code for Sustainable Homes. In-between his role in Government and his consultancy experience he spent a year driving through Africa in a solar powered landcruiser working with the charity SolarAid.
