Stuart Carr studied architecture at Dundee University winning the Dundee Civic Medal for his final year thesis project in 1984. Since then he has gained a wealth of experience, particularly in the residential and historic building conservation sectors. He has established a reputation and ability to combine a sympathetic understanding of contemporary design with a thorough knowledge of construction techniques to successfully deliver many major buildings within these sectors. Stuart's practice, Inglis & Carr, has won numerous awards over the years including the prestigious SDA / RIAS Regeneration of Scotland Design Award.
Since 2006 Stuart has collaborated with high profile London-based practices including Young & Gault, PRP, Chetwoods and Chapman Taylor working on large scale residential, hotel and mixed-use projects in London, Manchester, Prague, Sochi, Moscow, Istanbul, Baku and other major world cities. Stuart has a strong desire to foster an innovative approach to off-site sustainable residential design balanced with best practice principles and sound commercial acumen. He generally divides his working week between Scotland and London.
